These are very exciting times to be alive. My dad was a geophysicist, so I grew up in a very science oriented household. He and I shared a great fondness for space exploration, and I read huge amounts of science fiction and still do, as well as knowing the history of NASA. I’m currently reading the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons. That really got my imagination going like I’m 12 again. I love it. I’m glad to be alive during these times to see robots, AI, and our next attempts at space exploration progress. I would like to take part somehow, if I can.

On your closing question, Peter, my guess is the human job stops being useful and starts being chosen. The rover decides what to investigate. We decide whether to go stand there anyway.
